Entwined, by Emanuela DeCenso

Long ago, you told me I was wonderful
Long ago, you told me I was the most selfish person you know
Long ago, you chose to condemn me
You chose to coerce
You are sadness that walks
The loneliest of talks
Long ago, I used to love you
Long ago, I used to forget you
Long ago, I used to loathe you
Long ago, I used to want you
Now, you and I
Seem to simply float in a cloud
Talk to each other out loud
Are we allowed,
 To join the crowd
Of hopeless dreams and desires
That bound us together in eternal fires
Entwined
